Attention all members:  The NJFOA Executive Board has unanimously approved our request to be independent.  We are now the Shore Chapter of the NJFOA.  Thanks go out to all members and your support in getting this accomplished!

Just as an FYI, we have been made aware that our interpreter, Tony Mascherin, stated that the mouthpiece must be attached to the facemask this year (this is only true in Pop Warner), at our meeting last week. That statement is “incorrect”, the rule change is only about all 4 points of the chin strap being attached.

Thunder/Lightning Procedure

Play must be suspended any time an official sees lightning or can hear thunder.  There is not acceptable time delay that allows conditions to be safe.  You see lightning or hear thunder, suspend the game.  Once the game is suspended, the game can not resume for 30 minutes after the last bolt of lightning or peal of thunder.  Each new bolt of lightning/thunder results in a new 30 minute countdown.

If you can hear thunder, lightning is close enough to be dangerous.  Do not try to "fit it in".
